Buzsense came to being form a series of events that started around 25 years ago. Johan Mostert, an architectural technologist, designed and managed interior fit-out projects ranging from one-off bespoke domestic projects to multi-million rand corporate roll-outs. One of these corporates happened to be Ster-Kinekor; the largest commercial cinema group in Africa.

Between 2007 and 2011 Johan honed his knowledge of sound, projection and cinema construction. During the 5 years with South Africa’s largest Cinema chain, Ster-Kinekor, Johan was responsible for managing the build and revamp of over 20 cinema complexes. This coincided with a period where the industry was going through several innovations. Digital cinema, 3-D, I-Max, luxury seating and several new audio formats were being integrated into cinemas, and this equipped Johan with a rich knowledge of the technology and design of leading edge movie theatres.

Buzsense  has completed projects  throughout South Africa, Nigeria, and Mauritius, and has built up a proud portfolio of home cinemas/ theatres and recording studios.
